The Ableton MCP server enables AI assistants to control Ableton Live through a socket-based communication protocol. Built by Youssef Hemimy and Siddharth Ahuja, this implementation consists of a Remote Script that runs within Ableton Live and a server component that exposes a Model Context Protocol interface. The server provides tools for session control, track management, clip creation, device parameter manipulation (with special focus on EQ Eight), and browser navigation. It supports advanced music production workflows like creating MIDI tracks, adding notes to clips, controlling audio effects, and managing send/return tracks, making it valuable for musicians and producers who want to leverage AI assistance in their creative process.
