IFC Building Information Modeling

This MCP server enables LLM agents to interact with IFC (Industry Foundation Classes) files, the standard format for Building Information Modeling (BIM) data in the construction industry. Built by Jia-Rui Lin from Tsinghua University's Department of Civil Engineering using Python with ifcopenshell and FastMCP, it provides tools for extracting entities by type, retrieving properties and locations, analyzing spatial relationships, finding openings on walls, and exploring space boundaries within building models. The implementation supports HTTP transport for web integration and includes utilities for geometric property extraction and spatial hierarchy traversal, making it valuable for construction professionals analyzing building data, AI assistants providing BIM consulting, and automated workflows requiring programmatic access to architectural and engineering information stored in IFC format.
