Kubefwd enables local development by discovering and port-forwarding Kubernetes services to unique loopback IPs, automatically updating /etc/hosts for in-cluster DNS resolution. It provides a real-time terminal UI with traffic monitoring, automatic pod reconnection when pods restart, and MCP integration for AI assistants like Claude Code and Cursor to manage port forwarding sessions programmatically.
