Cicada
AST-aware code intelligence across 17+ programming languages, with module and function search, call-site tracking, dependency anal
Cicada is a code intelligence MCP server that provides structured, pre-indexed understanding of a codebase across 17+ programming languages (production support for Elixir, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Rust, with beta support for Erlang, Go, Java, Kotlin, Scala, C/C++, Ruby, C#, and others). Instead of feeding AI assistants raw file dumps, it indexes code at the AST level and exposes focused tools for module and function search, call-site tracking with alias resolution, bidirectional dependency analysis, and dead-code detection with confidence scoring. It adds git and GitHub-based attribution — mapping why code exists through git blame and PR review comments at line-level precision — plus incremental indexing for fast updates and semantic keyword/embedding search. Indexes are stored locally outside the repository, and the server integrates with editors such as Claude Code, Cursor, and VS Code, making it useful for navigating large polyglot codebases where understanding relationships and ownership matters.
